First Days of Discovery is a series of books about a group of students and their adventures in school and other interesting field trip and school area learning environments, as well as at home and on their own. Topics range from starting school to the exploration of outer space, and subjects can cover ground stretching from simple basic common sense observations all the way to the farthest possible reaches of wild speculative flight. The entire series is packed with new ideas, fun characters, a celebration of knowledge, frequent odes to imagination and originality, and sometimes even the occasional valuable life lesson. Stories and subject matter are structured so as to be interesting to both the younger children and the older kids and adults who might read these to and with them.

These stories are being made available in a set of several "identical variations," each with its own character inhabiting their own versions of the exact same books. At present there are eleven different stories available, each featuring five different students, and at least a few more of each are on the way so updates will follow.

Be advised that the idea behind these somewhat unusual intermediate reading materials is that they entertain the younger kids who are being read to while providing a more challenging experience to young readers as they work towards learning to read them by themselves. They aren't early readers for beginners but rather slightly more immersive longer term projects geared towards new reading skills as they advance. It is hoped that everyone involved in the process of youngsters learning to read will find them entertaining. The goal is to present a completely unique approach to storytelling while exposing readers to some new and interesting words and novel concepts.

Follow Timmy or one of his friends as they navigate the ups and downs of school and learning with the help of teachers, friends, family and their own developing sense of open minded curiousity. It is hoped that readers of all ages will enjoy these fun and colorful stories, as well as the variety of illustrations that help bring their worlds to life. Please also note that Lucy & Ricky, a couple of other distinguished young scholars associated with the schoolhouse, are on hand. They can always be counted on for fun and interesting facts of both the pertinent and peripheral variety.
